Specifications

1.Hydraulic Shaftless Unwinder

This shaftless unwinder features hydraulic lifting, automatic web tension control, and easy roll loading without a shaft. Its compact structure, robust arms, and floor-track movement ensure stable unwinding for duplex board coating. It ensures consistent production without stop and allow high loading weight(3-5 Ton Max.) and large unwinding

2.Coating Station:Air Knife Coater and Blade/Rod Coater

We adopt the most technologically advanced air knife coating method as well as the blade knife/rod coating method. The air knife can effectively cover the paper fibers, providing excellent uniform coverage which is a common choice for the base coating. The blade knife/rod coating method can precisely control the coating amount and provide a smooth paper surface. It is the ideal choice for high-end coated printing paper.

3.Drying Section

The dryer we used is air floatation type which could achieve no-contact drying mechanism.By suspending the coated sheet on a cushion of hot air, they perfectly preserve the pristine, smooth surface finish, preventing any marking or distortion. We have provided two drying options, saturated steam or gas burner heating. The customer can select different drying sources according to the actual situation.

4.Hot&Cooling Finishing Cylinders.

After drying from chemical coating, paper would pass over a group of chromed plated hot cylinders heated by steam. The hot cylinder thermally softens the coating, using heat and pressure to iron it to a very high-gloss, smooth finish—directly enhancing print quality. Immediately thereafter,  the cooling cylinder connected to the cold water will quickly cool the sheet, thereby achieving this surface effect and ensuring that the luster and flatness can be permanently maintained.

5.Triple-Roller Soft Calender

This three-roll soft press machine features a unique center shiny cylinder design, which creates two separate indentation areas. The key performance advantage is the ability to independently control the gloss and flatness of the top and bottom sheets of paper, while the thermal softening treatment ensures excellent surface quality - all of these are achieved through a compact and efficient integrated approach, making it highly suitable for high-end paperboard production.

6.Transmission parts and control

Equipped with a distributed variable frequency drive system, which is synchronized controlled by a Siemens PLC and an intuitive touch screen human-machine interface, our paper coating machine integrates top electrical components such as Siemens and combine them with efficient motors from leading Chinese manufacturers to ensure the durability of the equipment.

A:

A duplex board white top coating machine line is a production system used to coat one or more layers of white coating (topcoat and precoat) on grey-back duplex board. It improves surface smoothness, brightness, printability, and appearance for packaging applications such as boxes, cartons, and printing products.

A:

Typical machine speeds range from 150–350 m/min, depending on coating method (air knife or blade), drying capacity, paper basis weight, and machine width. High-capacity lines can reach up to 450 m/min with advanced drying and tension control systems.

A:

Commonly used coating heads include:
Blade coater (high smoothness, excellent printability)
Air-knife coater (uniform coating weight, good for high coating thickness)
Curtain coater (optional for ultra-smooth topcoat)
Different coating heads may be combined for pre-coat and top-coat layers depending on quality requirements.

A:

Coating weight varies by application, but most mills apply:
Pre-coat: 12–20 gsm
Top-coat: 8–15 gsm
Total coating weight generally falls between 20–35 gsm to achieve high surface gloss and good offset or digital printing performance.

A:

The baseboard should meet:
Grammage: 100–450 gsm
Smooth and stable surface (low roughness)
Moisture: 6–8%
Good stiffness and strength
Higher-quality greyboard ensures uniform coating and minimizes defects such as streaks or pinholes.

A:

A complete line typically includes:
Hydraulic unwinder and auto-splicer
Pre-coat and top-coat stations (blade/air-knife)
Multi-zone hot air drying system
Infrared dryers (optional for fast drying)
Cooling cylinders and moisture regulation
Calender or soft-calender for surface finishing
Rewinder and automatic reel changer
Touchscreen PLC control system

A:

A standard 2.5–3.6 m duplex board line typically requires:
Electrical power: 120–250 kW
Steam system: 0.6–1.0 MPa for drying cylinders
Compressed air: 0.6–0.8 MPa
Hot-air ovens and exhaust system
Energy consumption depends on paper width, drying capacity, and coating thickness.

A:

We would offer:
1. On-site installation and commissioning
2. Training for operators, coating technicians, and maintenance staff
3. Coating formula and process parameter guidance
4. Spare parts supply and quick-response after-sales
5. Remote technical support via video or online diagnostics
These services ensure stable production and fast start-up.
